 Established in 2009, having experienced 10 years of construction and development, the Faculty of Natural Sciences has affirmed its position in training, scientific research and gradually approaching international standards. Natural Sciences Department currently has 5 training programs: Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Sciences and Applied Biology with a faculty of 1 Associate Professor, 11 PhD, 71 Master and Research Students are studying research domestically and internationally.

About training

In the period of 2009 to 2018, the Faculty of Natural Sciences trained students in the fields of Pedagogical Training for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology Teachers  and Bachelor of Environmental Science. From 2015 until now, the faculty has trained bachelors in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Applied Biology, and Master of Science in Environmental Sciences. The system of training programs managed by the faculty is regularly updated, supplemented and referenced with advanced programs of domestic and regional universities. From 2015 up to now, the Faculty has applied CDIO model in all the modules and outputs of the training program to meet the needs of human resources of society. Therefore, the quality of training is constantly being raised, the annual graduation rate is over 70%. Graduates who have jobs suitable with the training majors account for nearly 80%, which are highly appreciated by employers. Currently, the training programs under the Faculty of Natural Sciences management are completing documents for national Program accreditation and aiming to accredit AUN-QA standards.

Every year, the Faculty regularly organizes practical outreach activities for students such as sightseeing, nature practices, junior internships, graduate internships at research institutes, public science application centers. technology, industrial clusters, factories to ensure students always learn with practice and practice practical experience.

Students of Science Faculty after graduation can work effectively in high schools, institutes, universities, research units inside and outside the province; undertake various tasks at state-owned enterprises, private enterprises, foreign-invested enterprises. The employment rate of students has been higher and higher since being a final year student, confirming the training orientation of the school and of the training programs more and more closely to reality, meeting practical needs, creating premise towards standards in Southeast Asia.

About the training of Olympiad teams

Over the years, the Olympiad teams of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry have actively responded, participated in many academic examinations and continuously gained many high awards at the regional, regional and national levels such as: Ky National Student and Student Mathematical Olympiad Competition, National Student and Student Physics Olympiad is one of the strengths of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. Teams in all times have achieved impressive results at national Olympic competitions, contributing to confirming the quality of training associated with developing research capacity, meeting the process of regional and national integration.

Organize science festival for high school students

In addition to teaching students in the school, the training towards high school students, professional training and technology transfer for secondary teachers are also paid attention to by the Faculty of Natural Sciences.

In order to share scientific knowledge and inspire creativity for young people, the Faculty has collaborated with the departments of the Natural and Technical Department of Thu Dau Mot University to organize a journey to learn and explore. Experimental activities for high school students. Students experience the high-tech laboratory, research, and production area of ​​the Faculty of Natural Sciences. As scientists, students experience research work; to test and evaluate biological and chemical preparations; you can see the process of making gold nano, visit the system of growing cordyceps mushroom, ganoderma lucidum and distillation technology, extracting essence from precious medicinal herbs.

In Ninh Thuan province, the faculty also organized a program for Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted students, called Science and Technology Day, the topic of Applied Biology and Biotechnology, which attracted More than 250 students attended.

Professional training for high school teachers

With the aim of improving professional qualifications, competencies and career skills for secondary teachers, the Faculty of Natural Sciences has taught in-depth training for teachers of junior and senior high school in the summer of 2015 and the seminar on "Orientation". regular training for high school teachers in 2016 ”and Training on capacity building on biotechnology for teachers at high schools in Ninh Thuan province in 2017.

At Le Quy Don Specialized High School (Ninh Thuan Province), a delegation of the Department of Biotechnology and Department of Education and Training of Ninh Thuan Province jointly organized a training course on model making techniques in Lab and process. growing medicinal mushrooms. About scientific research

Aiming to be a pioneer in training, scientific research and technology transfer, the nature of research activities of the Faculty of Science has also shifted from basic research contents to topics in research programs. application and development of technological solutions, both in the number of topics and in the implementation funding. Scientific research is closely associated with teaching, learning and compilation of textbooks and teaching materials. Publications in domestic and foreign magazines and international conferences. To date, the Faculty of Natural Sciences has more than 55 ISI and Scopus articles.

Since the establishment of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, departmental, school, and international conferences in the field of Environment, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry and Applied Biology have been held periodically.

Along with education and training, Thu Dau Mot University has always focused on developing scientific research work among faculty members and students. Following the University's policy, the Faculty of Natural Sciences has increasingly promoted the potential of scientific research among faculty members and students. Topical seminars, scientific seminars related to topics: "Chemistry for sustainable development", "Physics and applications"; "Biological applications in agriculture"; "Biological applications in medicine"; "Some modern biology issues" is one of the periodic activities that help lecturers exchange, learn, share information, research results and exchange practical experiences between lecturers in teaching and scientific research work. The Faculty has also successfully organized the IFGTM international conference 2016 with the theme "Green growth, the path of sustainable development", the seminar attracted hundreds of domestic and international scientists to attend.

Scientific research activities of students
